Sleep or Hibernate?
Most of my friends ask me which is a better option Sleep or Hibernate. First of all let us know what exactly happens in your computer whenever you choose any of these options.
Hibernate : All the open files/programs are saved on the hard disk. And the computer switches off. No more power is wasted.
Sleep : All the open files/programs are saved on the Ram and computer remains on.
So, whenever you are working on any small file(which counts in KB) and you have not saved it sleep is a better option. But, if you are using programs which use a lot of Ram and have big file size.(Eg. premiere pro) Hibernate is a better option.
Resuming the windows is easier in Hibernate mode as the files are retrieved faster from a hard disk rather than RAM.
Note : If using a laptop Hibernate is always a better option as it saves the battery charge.
